06 Oct ANNOUNCEMENT: Remote delivery of classes at Regis College to continue during Winter Term 2021
Regis College will continue to deliver courses via remote learning (i.e. online synchronous) during the Winter academic term, beginning January 2021.
This decision is based on several factors:
- As Toronto is currently experiencing a second wave of COVID-19, there is no indication that physical distancing guidelines will be relaxed anytime soon.
- When registering for courses the manner of course delivery must be designated, so a proactive decision on delivery method ensures students will be able to register in a timely fashion.
- A sizeable number of Regis students have not been able to receive their student visas and are still awaiting entry to Canada (although our hope is that that will be resolved soon).
Consequently, College leadership has decided that the most prudent solution is to continue with the remote learning model originally implemented for Fall Term 2020, including the use of Zoom video conferencing as the primary delivery mode for virtual, synchronous class meetings.
Thank you to all members of the Regis College community for your flexibility and good cheer as we continue to work under challenging circumstances.
