Regis College is the theological school of the Society of Jesus in Canada, affiliated with the University of Toronto through the ecumenical Toronto School of Theology. It offers post-baccalaureate civil and ecclesial degrees within the Roman Catholic tradition. The spirituality of Saint Ignatius of Loyola animates our enterprise as Regis College prepares men and women for ordained and lay service in pastoral ministry, teaching and scholarship. True to this Ignatian heritage, the Regis College community finds God in all things by reflecting on our experience of the Triune God in the world.
We engage the profound questions facing the Church and the world. We form women and men to be of service to others. We seek inter-faith and cross-cultural dialogue with all people of good will. We dialogue through the integration of theology and spirituality in : seeking the truth; pursuing social justice and ecological good; and appreciating the beautiful.
Located in the heart of Toronto, a diverse and cosmopolitan city, Regis College is surrounded by government, health, business and cultural organizations with whom it seeks to cooperate for promotion of the common good. In partnership with the University of Toronto, Regis College engages with other disciplines and explores emerging ideas and perspectives, thus strengthening the presence and witness of our faith.
The Coat of Arms of Regis College recalls the original seal of the Jesuit Order with its stylized Greek monogram of The Holy Name of Jesus augmented by a golden Crown of Christ the King. The boughs of maple leaves and academic palms stand for the ideal of academic excellence in Canada.
