The Challenge of Indigenous Spirituality

Truth and reconciliation includes a call for the decolonization of Indigenous spirituality. There is a need to acknowledge what has been suppressed in Indigenous beliefs systems and the reasons why this was done. Encouraged by Elders to respond, Dr. Stonechild wrote The Knowledge Seeker: Embracing Indigenous Spirituality. In the Royackers Lecture he will discuss the ontology and epistemology of Indigenous spirituality, and its implications for today’s society.
