Principal Lecturer: Prof. Kiernan O’ Mahony, OSA, Augustinian Friar and Biblical Scholar
John takes us behind Jesus’ ministry where we get a glimpse of the paradox and complexity which makes this important text the most Jewish and the most anti-Jewish of the Gospels. This course will examine theological discourse, and difficult texts related to Jews and Judaism within the narratives of John’s Gospel. Jewish and Christian sources will be studied to highlight specific teaching.
