The Dominican Institute of Toronto, in collaboration with the Toronto School of Theology, the University of St. Michael’s College, Regis College, and Regis St. Michael’s Faculty of Theology, will be having its Aquinas Lecture on Monday January 29, 2024 at 4-6pm, in Saint Joseph’s Chapel at Regis College (100 Wellesley Street West). This year’s presenter is Prof. Gilles Routhier, and his lecture is titled “Theology in Universities is Changing: What is Coming Next?”
Prof. Gilles Routhier is internationally recognized for his scholarship on Vatican II. He is the author of numerous monographs, book chapters, and articles. For over 30 years he has taught ecclesiology, missiology, and practical theology at Laval University, Quebec City, where he served two successful terms as Dean. A member of the Royal Society of Canada, Prof. Routhier currently serves as the Superior General of the Seminary of Quebec. In 2023 he was appointed by Pope Francis a theological expert to the Synod on Synodality. Prof. Routhier has served as the Roman Catholic delegate to national and international ecumenical dialogues and is a member of the Peter and Paul Seminar.
