Joseph Schner, S.J. | Interim President
Regis is a graduate school of theology, a founding member along with six other colleges of the Toronto School of Theology and an affiliated college of the University of Toronto. It grants conjoint degrees with the university ranging from the Masters in Divinity (MDiv) to the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Theological Studies. As an ecclesiastical faculty it also has the privilege to grant the Bachelor of Sacred Theology (STB), Licentiate in Sacred Theology (STL), and Doctor of Sacred Theology (STD) degrees. With its six college partners it is committed to ecumenical theological education and service within Canada’s major university.
As a Jesuit college Regis’ work is shaped by the vision of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Its mission is the on–going fostering of personal growth, faith development, academic excellence, and community service for all of its students. The intercultural community of students, and Regis’ alumni and alumnae are enlivened by the college’s liturgies, classes, ministerial outreach, service, and friendship.
Regis College is fundamentally committed to faith that does justice in the contemporary world. I hope that you will take time to explore the many dimensions of this commitment on our website, and feel welcome to visit and experience the life of Regis during our Fall and Winter open houses, lecture series, and Open Windows classes.
Looking forward to welcoming you at our live site!
Joe Schner, S.J.
