1. Get your TCard, UTORid, and UTmail+ Account

Getting your UTORid and setting up your UTmail+ (U of T email) account are part of the process of getting your TCard. Follow the link below for information on how to get your TCard, UTORid, and UTmail+.

The University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) is a mandatory health plan intended to ensure that you have basic health care coverage while studying in Ontario.  It is very important that you obtain your UHIP card early before the possible event of a medical emergency.

Returning Students

1. Verify and update your personal information

Go to ACORN(SWS) by 31 August. Inform the Registar if you change your address/phone.

2. Contact your Program Director

Obtain approval for academic activities.

3. Enroll in courses

After obtaining approval, enroll courses on ACORN(SWS).

 

Graduate Degree Students: When coursework is completed, enrol via administration

4. Check the Quercus website

See if the instructor is using Quercus, as support, and for preparation before coming to classes.

5. Keep the approved Academic Activities Approval Form

Make sure to keep a copy in your academic profile for record.

6. Pay Fees

See invoices posted in ACORN(SWS).

Basic Degree Students

  • If you have taken all required courses for the program but have not completed your course work; or you are still working on the closure paper for your program which you have enrolled in previous session (e.g. RGT3790YY Master of Theological Studies Synthesis Paper or TSX3339YY Summative Exercise), you will automatically be enrolled to continue registration on a term-by-term basis in the immediate consecutive term, and pay a continuation of program fee equal to one course credit plus incidental fees until completion, i.e. TSZ3333HF (for September term) or TSZ3333HS (for January term) or TSZ3333HF (for Summer session).
  • In addition to tuition and incidental fees, students in the MDiv Program are advised to budget about $360 to $400 for ten to twelve sessions in spiritual direction for each year of their program. MDiv students can consult the Director of Theological Field Education for advice on the selection of a spiritual director.
  • Students in IFM/STM or STM Programs are required to complete three advanced level courses, and therefore will be invoiced an adjustment fee directly by the College, which is the difference between advanced level and basic level fees for the three courses. This adjustment is not a new fee. Basic Degree students taking advanced (6000) level, or 5000 level courses with special permission are required to pay the adjustment fee.

Graduate Degree Students

  • All Graduate Degree students are to forward to the Registrar’s Office, by 31 July, the “Declaration of Full-Time/Part-Time Status
  • When you have no other academic activity during the session, or when you reach the research/thesis stage, you should enrol in an academic activity in SWS(ACORN), either to maintain registration, or to reflect the research/thesis work that you are engaged in. Check with the Registrar for the appropriate academic activity code that applies to you at that time, have it approved by the AD Director by using the Academic Activities Approval Form – see “Enrolment (via Administration)“. Keep the approved form for record. Check your SWS(ACORN) record in a week’s time to verify enrolment.
