The Fourth Lateran Council (1215) declared, “One cannot note a similarity between Creator and creature–however great–without noting an ever greater dissimilarity between them.” In light of this, how can we think or speak about God with any accuracy? Join us at 5:15 p.m. on October 28 at Regis College, as Regis S.T.L./Th.M. student Fr. Chris Grodecki, S.J., shares a lecture entitled “Analogia Entis: God and Creation.”

This lecture will introduce the philosophical idea of the analogia entis (analogy of being), its affirmation and fundamental grounding in the Incarnation and the Holy Trinity, and why analogy and analogical thinking—which helps us maintain the tensions between identity and difference we encounter in the world—continue to be essential for a deeper engagement with how we relate to God and to one another in the world today.
