This page provides the Regis College community with relevant guidelines as we move forward with our re-opening at 100 Wellesley Street W. for students, faculty, staff, and prospective student visits.
The guidelines below are informed by the University of Toronto’s official policies in response to COVID-19. Please visit the links to the right for further resources.
Regis College returns to modified opening hours on the first day of Fall Semester, Monday, September 14, 2020.
Our facility is open for the Fall Semester from Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Building closures include all evenings, weekends, statutory holidays, and during Reading Week.
Provision for potential contact tracing: All persons entering the College must sign in at the front door with name and contact number. This includes students, faculty, staff, and visitors. In the unlikely event of a visitor testing positive for the novel coronavirus, the College will use recorded contact details to inform others present in the building on that day.
Face coverings: Everyone entering the building must wear a face covering or protective mask, unless unable to do so for medical reasons. The University of Toronto is offering students two free, non-medical cloth face masks. Further details on pickup locations may be found here. The closest pickup location to Regis College is located at the John M. Kelly Library security desk (University of St. Michael’s College), 113 St. Joseph Street. Please note that you will need to provide your UTORid at the pickup location. Additionally, a small supply of face masks is available at the Regis College Front Desk. We ask regular users of College facilities to be mindful of our limited stock.
Sanitation stations: Everyone is asked to sanitized their hands upon entry to the building. Additional hand sanitizer dispensers are in place throughout the facility.
Physical distancing: Please observe a minimum six-foot distance from others wherever possible. We ask all patrons to maintain modified room layouts in common spaces with reduced seating.
Signage: Notices are posted encouraging physical distancing, proper hand hygiene, and maximum occupancy numbers for rooms and elevators.
Cleaning and disinfecting: More frequent sanitization of high traffic areas.
Protective barriers: Plexiglass now exists in high traffic areas (i.e. front lobby) where maintaining physical distancing may not be possible.
Use of physical space: We encourage students not to frequent the upper floors of the College, except for pre-arranged meetings with professors or accessing the Lonergan Centre/Msgr. Fraser Centre by appointment.
The Regis College Community Eucharist resumes on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 1:10 PM, beginning Thursday, September 17.
A reservation system is required online events calendar to ensure the number of attendees allows for proper social distancing (20 people maximum).
Masks/face coverings must be worn by all attendees.
Hands must be sanitized prior to entering the Chapel.
Please respect social distancing by following seating signage and not using blocked-off pews.
Where applicable, other regulations mandated by the Archdiocese of Toronto will be followed by clergy, sacristans, servers, etc.
