DESCRIPTION:  \nUsing the challenging and thought-provoking apostolic exhortation Evangelii Gaudium (The Joy of the Gospel)\, this four-part series will explore Pope Francis’ roadmap for the Church’s pastoral mission and work in the world.\n  \nWednesday\, February 1\, 2017 – Scott Lewis S.J.: From the Heart of the Gospel – A Church Which Goes Forth (Chapter 1)  \n  \nWednesday\, February 8\, 2017 – Dr. Margaret Lavin : Pope Francis in Evangelii Gaudium exhorts all communities to an “ever watchful scrutiny of the signs of the times” To bring this exhortation home\, the Jesuits of English Canada stated that “reconciliation between Native and non-Native Canadians is becoming a major theme in Canadian life\,” This presentation will probe how we can bring the joy of the Gospel to this reconciliation. \n  \nWednesday\, February 15\, 2017 –  Sr. (Dr.) Mary Rowell: The Proclamation of the Gospel: The Entire People of God Proclaim the Gospel (Chapter 3) \n  \nWednesday\, March 1\, 2017  – Dr. William Ryan S.J. and Kevin Kelly S.J.: The Inclusion of All – The Social Dimension of Evangelization (Chapter 4).  Pope Francis’s Evangelii Gaudium\, The social dimension of Evangelization\, summarizes in his own words “…at the heart of the Gospel is life in community and engagement with others.”(177) This session will include a lecture on the content of the chapter followed by a sharing of practical approaches for application and action. \n  \nEnrollment is limited.
